Sewer Camera Inspection: See the Problem Before You Pay to Fix It
What a Sewer Camera Inspection Does
A sewer camera inspection runs a small camera through your sewer or drain line so we can see the actual problem, instead of guessing at it. The camera shows roots growing into the line, cracks, bellies where the pipe has sagged, blockages, and other damage that you cannot see from above ground.
Seeing the line matters because the fix depends on what is wrong. A root problem, a cracked pipe, and a sagging section of pipe are not the same job, and they should not be priced or repaired as if they were. With the camera footage, we can show you what we found and explain what it means in plain terms.
When a Camera Inspection Makes Sense
A camera inspection makes sense when a drain keeps clogging, when you have an older home with older lines, when you are buying a home and want to know the condition of the sewer line before you close, and before you pay for a bigger repair. In each case, the point is the same: find out what is really going on first.
It is also useful after a line has been cleared. If you have had drain cleaning and the same line clogs again, a camera look can tell us whether the problem is a root, a break, or something else that clearing alone will not fix.
Locating the Problem From Above Ground
Along with the camera, we locate the problem spot from above ground. That means we can mark where the trouble is, so any repair work is done in the right place and you are not paying for digging or work in the wrong spot.
The Step Before Jetting or a Repair Decision
A camera inspection is the step before jetting or a repair decision. Once we know what is in the line, we can tell you whether hydro jetting is the right tool, whether a standard clearing will do, or whether a repair is needed. You get a recommendation based on what the camera showed, not on a guess.
